Signed Coded Exposure Sequences for Velocity and Shape Estimation from a Single Photo by Tyler Hutchison

چکیده
In this thesis, I analyze the benefits of signed coded exposure for velocity and shape detection of moving objects. It has been shown that coded exposures enhance deblurring of motion blurred photos [28]. However, these non-negative binary codes (1 or 0) only suggest opening and closing of the shutter to allow or prevent light from entering the camera. Signed codes (+1 or -1) for camera exposures offer accumulation or removal of light over the course of a single exposure. I show that signed codes provide dramatic benefits over unsigned code for motion estimation due to better frequency domain properties and auto-correlation chariacteristics. I analyze the space of such codes with invertibility analysis and a cross-correlation metric. Motion estimation is important to a number of computer vision probleins such as tracking, segmentation and recognition. New emerging hardware, in the coniercial and research domains, provides signed coded for exposure, but their full capabilities have not been explored. Part of my efforts involved experimenting with the electronics of such cameras. The emphasis in this thesis is on the computational aspects of a framework which employs new codes for motion parameter estimation. I demonstrate the ideas on a variety of synthetic images and real-world photographs. I hope the cameras and theory of signed coded exposure will be a new motion-analysis tool in the field of computational photography. Thesis Supervisor: Dr. Ramnesh Raskar Title: Associate Professor

متن کاملRelation Between RNA Sequences, Structures, and Shapes via Variation Networks
Background: RNA plays key role in many aspects of biological processes and its tertiary structure is critical for its biological function. RNA secondary structure represents various significant portions of RNA tertiary structure. Since the biological function of RNA is concluded indirectly from its primary structure, it would be important to analyze the relations between the RNA sequences and t...
متن کاملExtracting Animated Meshes with Adaptive Motion Estimation
We present an approach for extracting coherently sampled animated meshes from input sequences of incoherently sampled meshes representing a continuously evolving shape. Our approach is based on multiscale adaptive motion estimation procedure followed by propagation of a template mesh through time. An adaptive signed distance volumes are used as the principal shape representation, and a Bayesian...
متن کاملVelocity-Dependent Shutter Sequences for Motion Deblurring
We extend the flutter shutter method of Raskar et al. [1] to fast-moving objects by first demonstrating that no coded exposure sequence yields an invertible point spread function for all velocities. Thus, the shutter sequence must depend on object velocity, and we propose a method to compute such velocity-dependent sequences. We demonstrate improved image quality from velocity dependent sequenc...

Based on the “Aggregate Demand” theory, monetary policies are designed with the aim of achieving desirable level of macroeconomic goals through affecting the stock of money supplyand income velocity of money. Thus, the velocity (V)-as well as money supply - has significant impact, particularly on rate of inflation through expansionary or contractionary monetary policy. To focus on the velocity ...
